So for those of you who are fans of Latin, you will remember that data is either the singular female nominative or female singular ablative form of dare. Or it is the neuter plural accusative/nominative. This means that Data from Star Trek Next Generation is either plural or in Latin "Android" is a female word. Fascinating.
